A site for sharing the webs best jazz transcriptions
A nice transcription of one of the tunes Marian plays on the ‘Live at Maybeck Hall’ recital (Concord label, 1991). Easy Living is a sweet ballad - played here in G - and this is a good place to check out some lovely ‘conventional’ (no disrespect to Marian there) piano voicings and leading. There’s a PDF and a reference audio file so it’s in .zip format this one….

Martial Solal and Johnny Griffin -
Quite hard-to-find duo album this. It's really good. Solal's playing is typically individual - ready to take risks and switching both harmony and time with a quicksilver flick of the wrist. Griffin's playing works really well to pin the music down to the changes, which are never far away. The interplay between them is wonderful and Griffin is in top swinging form. I don't normally do this, but you can find a copy here
