I’ve just come across the transcriptions page on the Freejazzinstitute’s site. Lots of really useful stuff here – don’t think I’ve been on this site before, not sure why it’s illuded me for so long….

Another amazing find on Scribd – transcribed piano voicings from Vol.60 of Aebersold play-along, ‘The Music of Freddie Hubbard’. Dan Haerle and Mark Levine and doing the comping duties it is a really good reference for voicings and voice leading in comping:

I’ve just found this impressive 72 page ebook: which has several transcriptions of Sonny Rollins and – even better – has an analysis of the great man’s playing. There is a link to download the pdf at the bottom of the page if you wish. Grab it while its there is my advice….
